and i think my favorite new flower book, the sakura accordian book:

katie watson, one of the maya road dt members put this album together. i find katie’s work so inspiring and i love what she did with this new release:

and finally a little dino book. i see this one making a really cool museum of natural history mini!

i can’t wait to see what else they’ll be releasing!

Pictures of our first customer in the store – Nathalie Kalbach

The day before we opened we had over very first overseas visitor. What fun! Nathalie Kalbach, an amazing scrapbooker from Germany (and friend of DT member Julie Balzer), peeked in to see how we were coming along. Nathalie and I went out for some Hampton Chutney and talked life and scrapbooking. We took some pictures just for fun!

Nathalie’s work is absolutely amazing. You can check out her blog called http://www.scrapbook-trends.com/ She is both published and a Prima Donna. On her next visit she is definitely going to be some classes at PortraitBug. And stay tuned for some other exciting news about Nathalie.

holiday wrapping made easy!

i stopped by a friend’s new home the other day, and gave a her a fun little housewarming gift…but the thing that got the most attention was the wrapping paper!

whimsy press makes the cutest flat papers ever, and while they are sold full size (perfect for shirt boxes and smaller) the best part is cutting them up and using the leftover on scrapbook pages and mini albums. the paper is the perfect weight and the designs are modern, yet fun (dare i say, cheerful??)

i’ve been a fan of whimsy for a while now, and this year’s holiday release did not disappoint. i’m especially fond of their adorable pon pom ribbon (which has a bit of wire in it) enabling you to make whimsical flourishes for any holiday bauble or ornament you can think of.

basically, they make stuff that rocks, so come down to the store and pick some up before it’s all gone :)
